My Move In Day Tips!

While packing my clothes I used Huggable Hangers.  I usually buy them on HSN but they also have them at Target and similar hangers at places like TJMaxx and Marshall's.  I love these hangers because your clothes actually stay on them!

When I was done hanging my clothes, I used a large Ikea Bag.  It's only $0.59 for one and is extremely durable! I then just neatly placed my clothes in the bag.  It was extremely convenient because once I was all moved in, all I had to do was take the clothes out of the hanger and hang them up in my dorm closet.

What to Bring to College: Bed Essentials!

Above are some of my Bed Essentials for College!  Let me know what other essential blog posts and videos you would like to see! I think that bed risers are one of the most important things!  Without them I wouldn't have had nearly as much room to store things under my bed!

Dorm Design: Chevron Chic

Product Information:

Hi everyone!
Welcome to my new series, Dorm Design!  Many of you have seen my Dorm Design YouTube videos.  I've decided to start making blog posts about tips, tricks and ideas on designing your dorm!

One of my favorite types of patterns is Chevron.  It is very eye-catching and can add some flair to a bland dorm room.  I would never do my whole dorm chevron, but adding small accent pieces or having a large focal piece like chevron bedding can transform your room!

You can even be creative and make your own Chevron Walls!  Instead of using paint, you can use tape or large pieces of paper.  Later this summer I will have a DIY up about creating your own Chevron art!

Let me know if you will be sporting Chevron in your dorm and get ready for more weekly Dorm Design blog posts!

Intern Diaries: Internship Essentials

Many of you have probably already started your internships but here's a list of some essentials you should have on hand with you!

1.) Laptop
If you have a laptop you should bring it with you so you can complete any tasks you need to on the computer and be able to do any research if needed.

2.) Watch
I would bring a watch so you do not have to constantly look at your phone for the time.  Also it's a fun accessory to dress up your outfit!

3.) Planner
Always have a planner on hand so you can keep track of events and due dates!

4.)  Notebook/Post Its and Writing Utensils
Always have a notebook to write down quick notes and make a check list.  This is great to have during a meeting!  Always make sure you have something to write with, you don't want to be an unprepared intern!

5.) Water and Snacks
Sometimes days in the office are very hectic and you may not have time to go out and buy a lunch.  Make sure you always have water and snacks on hand for days like those.

Summer Classes!

This summer I am taking summer classes.  Not one, but two!  Luckily they're both online so I am able to still dedicate time to my retail job and Glamoration.  However, I will admit it is hard to stay inside and read a textbook while I'd rather be at the beach!  Above is my video about my Summer class experience. Let me know if you have ever taken summer classes!  It helps knowing that I will have 2 classes I don't have to worry about Fall or Spring semester.

Freshman Orientation Essentials + Video Marathon!

As mentioned in the video above, I am planning on making a freshman orientation essentials checklist and posting it later this week.  That way you can just print it and make sure you have everything!  I plan on doing this for other essentials videos throughout the summer too.

I plan on doing a video marathon for July-August.  Leave your ideas for names and any requests!

Intern Diaries: Websites to Find Summer Internships

Hey all!  It's not too late to apply for a summer internship!  Here's a few websites I used last summer while hunting for the perfect internship for me.  This summer I'm not doing one, but I'm hoping next summer I will do one in NYC.  Let me know what your dream internship is!

My Major and Why I Switched Majors!

{source}

Hey everyone!
One of the ways you build your identity in college is by your major. Your major in a sense determines your future, and what you'll be pursuing. I am interested in many things and have a strong passion for communications and education. It was hard for me to make a decision but I think I made the right one. Let me know down below what your major is and how you made your decision! I'm a junior and I'm finally happy with my major! :)

My Suite and Residence Hall Tour - Freshman Year

Hey everyone!  I recently uploaded a video giving you a tour of suite and residence hall Freshman Year.  One of my most popular videos on YouTube is my Freshman Dorm Room Tour (had I know it would be so popular I would've organized a little more) haha.  I hope you all enjoy this!  The pictures and everything are back from when I was a freshman in 2009-2010.  If I knew back then how much College Glamoration has grown I would've taken more pictures and videos!  I loved the dorm and it was by far my favorite!  It def. helped that I had a beyond amazing roomate and the sweetest suitemate (hehe sweetest suitemate, get it?) ever!

Intern Diaries #1: What's an Internship? and Intro to the Series!

What's an internship?
Internships provide real world experience to those looking to explore or gain the relevant knowledge and skills required to enter into a particular career field. Internships are relatively short term in nature with the primary focus on getting some on the job training and taking what’s learned in the classroom and applying it to the real world.
I believe the above definition from About best describes an internship.

Let me know what you would like to see in this internship series!  Have you ever had an internship?  Tell me about it in the comments!  If you would like to be featured on the site to tell about your internship then email me.

Campus Couture: Winter Essentials

I know winter is almost over, but I suppose this is better late than never!  Here are my winter essentials,  let me know what yours are!  We've barely had any snow in CT compared to last year.  However, I'm not complaining :)

Time Management

I'm already looking forward to next semester.  This one has been super hectic, I love most of my classes but hate my schedule.  Next semester I made the perfect schedule.  Classes all day Tues and Thurs, and 1 night class Mon. and Wed. and Fri. off.  It's great because I'll still have time during the day on Monday and Wednesday to accomplish things.

One thing about this semester is that it's been so hard for me to manage my time.  Do you have any time management tips?  Share them in the comments! :)

50 Ways to Cope with Stress

Everyone tells me how midterms time is one of the most stressful parts of college.  I agree completely, the pressure to study and do well is always in the back of my mind.  I saw this the other day and thought it was cute and shared some good tips.  What are some ways you destress?

Class Cancelled!

How many of you guys love when your class ends up being cancelled?!  My class tonight is cancelled and I'm so happy.  I know that sounds bad to be excited that class is cancelled, but when you have a lot of stuff to get done, it's helpful!

For example, today instead of having class 2:40-10:00 I have class 2:40-7:00 which is still rough, but when I get home I can record some videos for you guys!

Also winter sadly is coming up in a few months, but at least it means some lovely snow days!

Are you guys sad when classes are canceled, or excited like me? :)

Half Way Through the Semester + Midterms!

I cannot believe that this semester is already half way over!  Mid grades are due Oct. 17th at my college which means I have to keep scoring high on all of my exams to get awesome final grades this semester!  So far I've really been enjoying all of my classes.  One or two I could do without to be honest, but that's life! haha

I've really been loving my English class!  We have great discussions, and my teacher always asks us great questions that really make you think.  They're questions where everyone has their own opinion and perceives it differently.  However, it's not an ethics class (thank god!) or else my head would be spinning.  I took an ethics class last semester, and man, I had some horrible headaches from trying to form my own opinion about some topics.

As many of you know, one of my majors is Early Childhood Education so I've started doing field experiences in a first grade classroom.  Pretty much it's where you observe the class and assist the teacher and the students.  I love it!  I know I'd be so happy to have a teaching career if I don't decide to go into the communications field.

Tomorrow I have 3 exams and classes from 2:30 until 10.  Thursdays are extremely draining, and then I have work Friday!  Sorry for the scatterbrained post, I have a ton going on right now!

What classes have you been enjoying this semester?
Do you have midterms this week or coming up?
Let me know!

Campus Couture: Rainy Day Essentials

"Rain, Rain Go Away, Come Again Another Day."

This year I'm a commuter, which means Monday through Thursday I drive to school.  When it comes to rainy days, it's a pain.  Then comes the best part, walking through the rain, and hoping you aren't soaked before class starts.  I love to dance in the rain on hot summer days, but during the fall it's too chilly and it makes me want to curl up in a blanket and go back to sleep.

I'll admit it, I'm a lazy bum when it comes to clothing on rainy days.  I already know that I'll most likely get wet.  So I might as well be comfy.  My attire for rainy days usually consists of yoga pants and a hoodie.  Fancy, huh?

However there are a few things that make my rainy days become a little brighter.   Here are my rainy day essentials:

An Umbrella
I would go for a cute pattern or bright color to add a little color to your dull, gray rainy day!

Cute Rain boots!

I love rain boots!  They keep my feet nice and warm and they come in all fun patterns and colors!  Mine are black with glitter, not too special, but they go with everything!

Hot Beverage

Hot tea, coffee etc. make my life so much better on rainy days!  It's nice to have something warm on a cool, rainy day.  I usually end up getting Dunkin Donuts because it's on my way to school.

What makes your rainy day a little bit brighter?

D.I.Y Dorm Decorations - Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall

A few weeks ago when I was home I made my daily trip to my local Target.  Now anyone who knows me, will tell you I'm a Target shopper fanatic.  I'm pretty much a regular there, especially when I'm home from school on my breaks.

Well one of my favorite things to do in Target is to stroll the end caps of all the aisles  (there's usually clearance on the endcaps!) and browse any aisles I think would interest me (which usually end up being all of them.)  Thanks to Target, I get a little mini workout whenever I go there.

This time around when I was visiting Target.. I found these lovely decorations on sale for $4.99.  I couldn't pass these babies up.  I knew they would look lovely on the walls in my dorm room and I just had to get them.  Also for less than $5, who could complain?!

Right when I got back up to school I pulled out my trusty Command Hooks and put my beautiful mirrors up on the wall.  They're such a cute decoration that add sophistication (yes, sophistication) to any dorm room!  And if you have a roommate and you tend to fight over the mirror in the morning, guess what! You just got three new mirrors so there's ton of mirror space for everyone!

Now I was lucky enough to find these at my Target marked down for such an inexpensive price.  However many Targets tend to have different items on clearance and all the clearance prices vary by store.

But if you can't find these mirrors at Target. Don't be sad, Be glad! Because these cute and simple decorations are super simple and I'm sure you would be able to make them yourself!  Just follow the steps below!
